AI scan for SMEs: where does it really deliver value?

Most AI plans don’t fail because of technology, but because of the question of what they’ll deliver. This scan turns that around: you start with the work in front of you now, and calculate where support can save time and improve margins. No sign-up required, and your answers stay on your own device.

No technology showcase

You don’t get a list of tools but a map with four boxes. One of them is called don't — and that’s the right answer more often than people think.

In hours and euros

Not a score from 1 to 5, but an amount per year. You can make a decision based on that; not on a maturity level.

Five minutes

Six sample tasks are ready. Replace them with your own work and the map redraws itself.

The opportunity map

Not a technology showcase, but a map: which tasks take time, recur often, and can be supported with the data you have. Fill in what you know for each task — an estimate is enough to determine the order.

Task Who Hour per week How often the same Data in order Risk if something goes wrong
Hourly rate for the calculation: euro. This is what an hour of these employees costs you, including employer contributions.

Where the opportunities lie

Top right is where you start: plenty to retrieve, little resistance.

What this means

For each task: what it delivers and when

How we calculated it: hours per week × 46 working weeks × hourly rate, multiplied by the share that can realistically be supported. That share ranges from 15% for work that is rarely repeated to 70% for highly repetitive work with well-organized data. For high-risk work, subtract a third, because human oversight is still needed.

Compare your results with other SMEs

Take part in the benchmark anonymously. You’ll see how your figures compare with similar companies — and help sharpen the picture.

What’s sent: industry, size category, and calculated hours per year. Nothing else — no company name, task names, amounts or contact details. You can’t undo this, so only do it once you’re happy with what you’ve entered.

The sequence

What the scan doesn’t do

The amounts above are estimates based on what you enter yourself. They determine the order of priority, not your budget. And note the difference most business cases overlook: time freed up is not a cost saving. It only becomes money if those hours go toward work that generates value, or if they help you handle growth without hiring someone.

What the scan doesn’t do either: check whether it’s allowed. For tasks involving recruitment, credit assessments or personal data, the AI Act comes into play, bringing documentation and transparency obligations. That’s covered at the page about the AI Act.

This scan says what What AI delivers. Not whether you can handle it.

The second part is covered by the AI capability model: nine layers, 86 capabilities and nine questions that put your results directly into your portal. Together, they show what it's worth and what needs to be in place first.

The logical next step

This scan looks at tasks. The Fresh Look looks at the surrounding processes: where is work duplicated, where does knowledge depend on one person, where is time being lost without any technology involved? In practice, there is often more to gain there than from AI itself — and it costs less.

Together, they give you the complete picture: what can be automated and what needs to be cleaned up first.

Where does the process break down in practice?

Your organisation is considering AI, but its biggest practical opportunities and risks have not yet been prioritised. Start with processes, data and decisions.

Direct answer

Start with a concrete business problem and a measurable outcome, not with an AI tool. Arrange data, ownership, risk and human control before you scale up.

What we do

We connect analysis, business intelligence, data and execution so you don't get stuck in advice or loose tooling.

How it works

  1. We clarify the current situation, data and the real bottleneck.
  2. We determine the smallest working solution, owner and measurable outcome.
  3. We implement or prioritize the next step and verify the result.
  4. We secure what works and stop or fix what doesn't work.

What you get

A concrete analysis, priorities, decision criteria, an executable next step and visibility into what needs to be built, integrated or secured next.

For whom and whom not

Right for Dutch SMB organizations that want to solve a concrete process, knowledge, data or AI problem. Not for organizations looking only for a generic tool demo or unproven AI promise.

Costs and choice

Price and scope depend on the chosen next step. View the current fixed packages and pricing logic at pricing for digitization.

Risks and concerns

We work step by step, make assumptions and ownership explicit, use only the minimum necessary data, and maintain human control over decisions and execution.

Frequently asked questions before you decide

Does everything have to be done at once?

No. The preference is one clearly defined problem with a measurable outcome, then scale up.

What does it cost?

The current pricing and package logic is on the pricing page; custom work is only chosen if the scope really requires it.

How do you prevent a trajectory without results?

By defining the problem, owner, success metric and stop criteria in advance, and doing readback and verification after each step.

How we assess your situation

We map your current process, systems, exceptions and costs. Only then do we advise whether an off-the-shelf solution, a custom integration or another approach makes sense.
